In a remarkable gesture of generosity and commitment to education, the Jagunmolu Asiwaju Okunrin of Akile Ijebu age group has donated a state-of-the-art Hitachi 82 inches Starboard Interactive Whiteboard, Canon Equivision Flex Full HD 1080P Smart Streaming Portable Projector, and Mini Desktop Computer Celeron N3350 up to 2.4 GHZ 4 GB (DDR 64 G3 emmer 4k HD, Wifi5 BC 4.0 Ethernet to the College. The donation, aimed at enhancing teaching and learning processes, was officially presented during a brief ceremony held at the College premises on Tuesday 19th November, 2024.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the College, the Provost, Dr. Modupe Oba-Adenuga expressed heartfelt gratitude, describing the gesture as timely and impactful. She noted that the Age Group, Jagunmolu Asiwaju Okunrin would be the first age group to contribute towards infrastructural development of the College aside the donation of Oba Sikiru Adetona School of Engineering Building by all the age groups of Akile Ijebu.
She charged the members of the age group to reach out to other age groups for the development of the College which is named after the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona GCON while admonishing the members of Jagunmolu Asiwaju Okunrin age group to continue with their good gestures toward the College. “This smart board will significantly enhance the delivery of our curriculum and improve our students’ learning experience. We are deeply grateful to the members of Jagunmolu Asiwaju Okunrin age group for their continued support of our institution,” the Provost said.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the Giwa of Jagunmolu Asiwaju Okunrin age group, Jagun (Hon.) Barrister Adebowale Ojuri, emphasized the unwavering commitment of the age group to fostering educational excellence in the community. He noted that the development of the College has become a task to be done since education is the foundation for societal growth. Giwa Jagunmolu Asiwaju Okunrin also stated that members of the age group decided to invest in the tools that empower students to compete in a digital world and that the gesture has been extended to other tertiary institution in the community.
The cutting-edge smart board, equipped with interactive features, will serve as a transformative tool for the institution’s classrooms. It promises to revolutionize the way lessons are delivered, allowing for more engaging and interactive learning experiences for students and educators alike. With this new addition, the College is set to further its mission of providing quality education powered by modern technology, ultimately preparing its students to thrive in the digital age.
