In a keenly contested election, the College Academic Board has elected two candidates to represent its members on the College Governing Council. The election, held recently featured four distinguished candidates, each presenting compelling visions for the development of the college.
The successful candidates, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Olayemi Ojo and Mr. Tolani Timothy Obakoya emerged victorious after a transparent voting process. Both individuals are well-respected scholars with extensive experience and a track record of commitment to the progress of the College.
Mrs. Oluwatoyin Ojo, a Chief Lecturer, is currently the Acting Dean School of Vocational and Technical Education; while Mr. Tolani Obakoya, a Chief lecturer in the Economics department of School of Arts and Social Sciences.
Speaking after the results were announced, the Provost of the college, Dr. Modupe Oba-Adenuga, congratulated the newly elected representatives and urged them to be exemplary ambassadors for the Academic Board. She stated that their election was a testament to the trust and confidence that their colleagues have in their abilities to represent their interests effectively. She therefore, charged them to bring their wealth of experience and passion for progress to the Council’s deliberations.
The two representatives of the Academic Board on the College Governing Council are expected to play pivotal roles in shaping decisions that impact the College future, including policies on infrastructure development, academic programmes, and staff and student welfare.
