In a grand gesture of appreciation, the Governing Council of Sikiru Adetona College of Education, Science and Technology (SACOETEC), Omu-Ajose, honoured the royal fathers of its host communities with Award of Honour for their unwavering support for the College.
The award ceremony, held on Wednesday, 5th February, 2025 was spearheaded by the College Governing Council Chairman, Prince Adewole Sowole, Chairman, Security, Town and Gown Committee of the College Governing Council, Major General Bamidele Shafa (Rtd), and the College Provost, Dr. Modupe Ayodele Oba-Adenuga, who jointly presented the awards on behalf of the College community. The awards recognized the monarchs’ dedication to the institution’s growth, their commitment to the well-being of SACOETEC students, and their continuous contributions to education and community development.

The occasion was particularly significant as all the awardees were physically present to receive their honours, demonstrating the strong bond between the College and its host communities. The event was preceded by the Security, Town and Gown Committee meeting, where discussions centered on fostering greater collaboration between the College and the communities.
The distinguished royal awardees are: His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdul-Ganiyu Olusegun Yesufu, Kutimehin I, the Onirete of Irete Land; His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdul-Salami Kolawole, the Jaun of Igbile Land; His Royal Majesty, Oba Sunday Olufemi Ogunbanjo, Sapenuwa I, the Kobowore of Jobore Land; and His Royal Majesty, Oba Mobolaji Oludaisi Mosuro, Ramuja III, the Olomu of Omu-Ijebu.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman College Governing Council, Prince Adewole Sowole highlighted the importance of harmonious relationships between academic institutions and their host communities, describing the royal fathers as pillars of wisdom and custodians of culture whose support has been instrumental in the College’s achievements.
On her own part, the College Provost, Dr. Oba-Adenuga commended the royal fathers for their unwavering support, noting that their guidance and leadership have played a crucial role in ensuring peace, stability, and progress within the SACOETEC community. She emphasized that the College remains committed to working closely with the traditional rulers to drive further development and enhance educational excellence.

In their responses, the honoured Obas expressed their gratitude to SACOETEC for the recognition, pledging their continued support for the College. They reaffirmed their commitment to fostering an environment that promotes academic excellence, innovation, and the overall well-being of students and staff.
The event underscored SACOETEC’s appreciation for the role of traditional institutions in education and development, reinforcing the College’s vision of strengthening partnerships for sustainable growth.
